A couple of tags I created a couple of Saturdays ago, and how I made them.
TAG 1
This first tag was created using Sheena Douglass Stamping Card, cut out with a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations die – Tag and Bookplates.
To colour, I used a Scattered Straw Distress Stain, with three coul;ors of Distress ink applied to the corners with Cut’n’Dry foam. I applied several stamps to the tag from various Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamp sets including Correspondence, Time Travellers, and Classics. Inks used included Distress, and Black Ranger Archival.
The time Traveller was stamped last, using a very rudimentary hand cut mask, and then his face and hat were faux bleached using a wet brush followed by paper towel to lift the ink away.
The photo of the mask is just to show you how simple the mask was, and was taken after completion of the tag.
TAG 2 – STEP BY STEP
I also made a second tag, also created using the Time Travellers stamp set. This was stamped using Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and coloured by dragging the ink from the image using a damp brush. I added some more ink in areas by dabbing a little on my glass mat, and picking it up on a damp brush. I also added Peacock Feathers distress ink in this way to highlight.
I cut a custom mask by stamping the image again onto lined paper, cutting round it, and applying Pinflair Stencil Glue to the back of it. I let that dry, and then temporarily stuck it to the tag. I countinued to stamp, and ink with Vintage Photo distress ink on Cut’N’Dry foam.
I contiuned to apply distress ink, including a spritz of Cracked Pistachio Spray Stain. I also sprayed and scrubbed some gold AquaTint onto the tag using a toothbrush. I then added the word Time and a doodled pocket watch by hand, using a Stabilo Colorparade pen.
I continued to stamp and ink, and then peeled the mask off to reveal the art.
